JUNE IS THE MONTH OF THE MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS

THE THIRTEENTH WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME

Dear parishioners,

The First Holy Communion masses last weekend were most joyful and I particularly thank our musicians and singers for the beautiful and soulful music they offered at each of the masses. We can also thank our flower arranger and assistants for the quite spectacular but as always graceful and natural flower displays for which they gave many hours of service for our children’s special day. These displays lift our hearts to the praise of God through the visual sense as music does for the ear. We can also say ‘Well done’ to our Altar Boys who after a year of pandemic restrictions have made their return to the altar and made a great contribution to First Holy Communion Weekend. The centre of our mission is mass at the altar of our parish church. If we offer God the best we can here, all else in the life of our parish will fall into place. At mass we offer God our own talents and gifts, work of our own human hands. All the fabrics which have been made and fitted so lovingly and perfectly, all the flowers arranged, all the cleaning and polishing done, all the serving at the altar, all the music played and sung is to the glory of God to make our little church a window into the beauty of Heaven. All that we do for the mass and at the mass must direct the soul to God for to Him be the Glory: Father, Son and Holy Spirit for ever and ever.
